Platform One

Platform One provides additional pay-per-use services and contract vehicles to facilitate teams’ adoption and move to DevSecOps. The list of services will continuously evolve and will grow to support the entirety of the DoD in deploying re-usable services and applications for multiple programs.

Challenge

The Contegix/Ascend team was tasked with building out and deploying hardened containers for multiple Atlassian Products, including Jira Software, Confluence, Bitbucket, and Bamboo. Platform One enforces strict security controls on all containers, requiring multiple scans to ensure no vulnerabilities existed in the containers throughout the buildout and deployment process.

Solution

We worked with both Atlassian and the Platform One program team to ensure the containers were built out and met all security specifications. Our team completed this task by utilizing our AI powered DevOps tool, JetDock, along with Twistlock, Anchore, and multiple other security scanning tools. We also tested the container deployments for the enterprise releases of the applications by accessing each of the containers, deploying them, and testing their functionality.

Outcome

Our team continues to support Platform One both from a container hardening and supporting the deployment of the Atlassian Tool Suite. We also utilize JetDock to continue to automate the build out and deployment of the Atlassian containers as new versions go live.
